This article helps you troubleshoot pricing rules in Fancy Product Designer. If your prices aren’t behaving as expected, this guide will help you find common issues and fix them quickly.
"My Pricing Rules Are Not Getting Applied at All"
The most common reason pricing rules don’t apply is that they haven’t been assigned to any product.
There are two ways to apply pricing rules to products:
- Globally – This applies the pricing rules to all products. You can set this under: Fancy Product Designer > Settings.
- Per Product – You can also assign pricing rules to individual products directly in the product settings.
"My Pricing Rules Are Applied Immediately"
Sometimes, pricing rules are triggered even when their conditions haven’t been met. For example:
You have a $100 t-shirt product:
And you’ve set a rule to add $15 when a custom image is uploaded:
But the product shows $115 even before any image is added:
This usually happens for two reasons:
- Element Not Specified – Make sure the pricing rule is linked to the correct element (e.g., "Custom Image").
- Not Excluded from Export – If an element isn’t marked as “Exclude in Export,” it may be counted in pricing even if unused.
Be sure to enable “Exclude in Export” for elements that shouldn’t affect pricing unless used.
