Grid overlay/align options

I love to see a toggle for a grid overlay on the designer and/or the ability to select multiple layers and align them. I am using the designer for things like wedding invites and order of service booklets where severaltext elements would need to be lined up nicely. I work around it the best I can but these options would make it simpler for the end user.

It would be great to have smart guides to make the aligment easier and accurate.

The end user may not accurately align multiple layers. If you can make this functionality easy for the end user (and also for the administrator) Fancy will be the ideal plugin. This is highly essential for stationary applications. Without this solved, we have a serious usability problem.
