Using one setup for all products - Woocommerce

Hi guys

May be a silly Q, but my pending use case for this is for a client that builds signs of all types, that wants to have a builder for just the plaque part of the sign (the middle area) irrespective of the types and settings of the sign itself.

The signs would have other options, like thicknesses, post lengths, coatings, engraving styles, etc. which effect the price of course - but unsure how I can basically create one setup in FPD (other than using categories which is what I've read up on ) to then all that setup to every product in the store - as the builder needs to be the same.

Is that the right way, and would the price in FPD then effect/override the overall totals of extra options calibrating within Woocommerce (using another plugin for adding extra options)?
