Add Text button on UI adds text, but can't change text color

In the Product Builder, I can add Text and enable color editing by adding my Color List. However in the UI the user is using to customize I can "Add Text" but I cannot edit the color of this text. What is the point of having an Add Text button in the UI where you can't customize and rather having an Add Text button in the backend which only the admin can customize? Might need a refund for this plugin
